Job Description: Nadel Architects is seeking an experienced Multifamily/Mixed-Use Studio Director to develop and lead a Multifamily/Mixed-Use Studio in our Scottsdale, Arizona office. The Studio Director will cultivate a culture of innovation, high standards, and enthusiasm while driving growth and business development to meet corporate goals. This role is responsible for the overall financial success, technical and design excellence, and strategic direction of the studio, acting as the face of the firm in the industry

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications:

15+ years of professional experience in architecture, design, or a related field

Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a positive work environment

Strong understanding of financial management within a studio or project-based environment

Travel between studio locations and domestic project sites as well as to and from industry events, conferences, and meetings as needed

Design Director - Retail
Job Title: Design Director - Retail

Job Description: Nadel Architects is looking for a talented and self-motivated Retail Design Director to join our Los Angeles Retail Studio. The Design Director is one of the creative leads behind the development of our various projects, working with a Project Planner and the Division/Studio Director to implement the Client’s program, consistent with the firm’s design vision. The position requires being a diligent team player willing to co-create with Division/Studio Directors, Project Planners, Senior Project Managers, and others in a Studio. The Design Director is the “creative face” of the retail studio responsible for its design vision and design excellence, providing oversight and administration for all activities within the studio. The Studio Director instills enthusiasm in the work environment, establishes and demonstrates high standards, and actively contributes to corporate goals, culture and development of the firm.​

Leadership and Oversight

Responsible for overall leadership and culture of the retail studio, contributes same to the firm

Takes direction from and communicates well with the Client, Division/Studio Directors, Project Planners, and Senior Project Managers.

Works with the team on the design of various building types, assisting in both Planning and Exterior Design

Responsible for conceptual design solutions and site planning, when required

Is able to translate programmatic requirements into design solutions

Has a general working knowledge of building construction and applicable current building codes

Senior Architectural Designer - Retail
Job Title: Senior Architectural Designer - Retail
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Job Description: Nadel Architects is looking for a talented and self-motivated Senior Architectural Designer to join our Los Angeles Retail Studio. The Senior Architectural Designer is the creative lead behind the development of the project, implementing the Client’s program with the firm’s design vision. Focus is equally on aesthetic and functional considerations. They must apply creative thinking when designing while maximizing space usage and meeting all functional requirements. This individual will be the go-to person to use their high level technical/computer design skills to turn ideas into reality. The ideal candidate must be able to quickly and readily generate concepts for retail development projects in a fast-paced studio environment using advanced skills in SketchUp, Revit, Rhino and Adobe Suite. An ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and communicate ideas in presentations to firm leaders, team members, and clients. They must also possess strong architectural design and planning skills.
